Dil Dil Pakistan – Vital Signs
Dil Dil Pakistan is undoubtedly the most famous patriotic song of the country. Its’ unique melody, lyrics and music have inspired young and old alike. The song is often referred to as the Second National Anthem of Pakistan. Sung by Vital Signs, the song got the 3rd place in BBC’s Best Songs in the World contest.
Jazba-e-Junoon – Junoon
Jazba-e-Junoon is one of the most popular songs by the Pakistani rock band, Junoon. It is the thirteenth and final track from the band’s third album, Inquilaab. Written by lead vocalist and guitarist Salman Ahmad, the song features a blend of rock guitars and bluesy vocals with eastern elements like the use of tablas, raga-inspired melodies and traditional Pakistani folk music.
Disco Deewane – Nazia Hassan
Nazia Hassan was an iconic Pakistani pop singer. Her song Disco Deewane from the album of the same name made her a legend not only in Pakistan but all of South Asia in the 80s, where she is admired and loved even today, several years after her death. Hassan Jahangir gained fame in the 80s with his hit single Hawa Hawa. His music went on to be acclaimed all over South Asia, most notably Pakistan and India.
