Beauty & Style
It’s that time of the year again, chilly winds and the dry atmosphere begins to take a toll on our delicate lips. When it comes to taking care of my lips I always make sure to scrub and moisturize on alternate days to keep them well hydrated and less prone to cracking. I’ve tried out plenty of lip balms from Nivea, Chapstick, Carmex, EOS and The Body Shop including Vaseline. While all of these lip treatments has its pro’s and con’s, I now use a newly discovered favorite that are the Labello Lip Balms. These beauties are not only inexpensive (say 190PKR a pop) but also are ultra-rich in moisture, non-stick and my favorite is the sheer tint it gives to the lips.
Labello was a friend recommendation since I was curious about what she had on her lips that made them look naturally moisturized with a light rosy tint. Ever since then I have been obsessed with these lip balms. Labello offer a vast range of lip balms to meet your lip specific needs. If you hate how Vaseline makes your lips tacky and more prone to dryness, I suggest Labello’s Lip balm Milk and Honey. The delectable scent is enriched with organic shea butter, jojoba oil, milk and honey extracts to moisturize and protect against damaged lips.
Labello Lip Balm Classic is perfect for men who suffer from dry cracked lips during the cold weather. The moisture rich lip balm is infused with natural ingredients such as jojoba oil and shea butter. The Vitamin Shake range is also a delight to use on the lips, my personal favorite is the Cranberry & Raspberry flavor. Enriched with real fruit extracts along with vitamin C, vitamin E, pro-vitamin B5 and SPF 10 what more could you ask for? The sheer light pink lip tint makes lips look naturally irresistible soft and smooth.
My favorite has to be the tinted range of lip balms, these include Labello’s Fruity Shine range, Vitamin Shake range, Pearly Shine and Velvet Rose. The Fruity Shine range is spot on with their flavored ingredients. The Strawberry Fruity Shine tastes and smells like delicious freshly picked strawberries while giving the lips a light red rosy hue. The added SPF 10 is another bonus to help protect against sun damage. The lip balm lasts about 1-2 hours on the lips if you manage not to lick your lips.
With a wide range of formulas and delectable flavors, you can be sure to find your perfect lip treatment in the range. Trade up your lip-gloss and lipstick for naturally smooth and shiny lips with Labello Lip Balms. These richly emollient balms give the lips a glossy and full effect without leaving them with a bad after taste.
Start by exfoliating your lips at least once or twice a week to remove any dead skin. Use a mixture of olive oil and sugar with a damp washcloth and scrub your lips in a circular motion.
Moisturize immediately after exfoliating so that the lip balm sinks into the lips. Do not overuse lip balm! Apply once a day at max twice.
Use lip balm as a lip treatment if you have very dry and cracked lips. If your lips just need a thin layer of lip balm then apply in moderation once in the morning before applying your lipstick and mid-day once your lipstick has worn off.
If you haven’t tried out these lip balms, your lips are surly missing out on a tasty treat. Labello lip balms are easily available in most super markets in Pakistan. To purchase Labello you can find them at Naheed’s Super Market in Karachi priced at 190PKR or visit Just4girls.pk.
