Beauty & Style
After months of wearing bright corals and hot pinks for summer, it’s time to get ready for Fall with warmer makeup. Update your makeup stash this season with the best makeup styles for 2013. This Autumn is all about deeper hues with shades of browns, reds and bronze.
The best tips for makeup this season is easier to carry out when you want to try out new trends. The reason why the style season associates with deeper hues is because of tree leaves turning shades of yellow and brown. In Pakistan however we rarely tend to see the leaves change color with the season. The chillier season can bring out bolder and richer shades with heavier eye makeup coupled with a dewy complexion. Experiment as much as you can with your makeup stash this season, try out these tips to keep your makeup fresh and lively.
Light and Natural
Less is always more when it comes to makeup for the season. The minimalist look is always the best way to go all year around but for this season keep your makeup fresh by using a heavy-duty concealer to cover up any blemishes and imperfections.
Since our skin gets tanned year around, skip out on wearing your normal foundation and go for a lighter coverage. You don’t need a heavy foundation for daytime but if you love the look of flawless, poreless, impeccable skin than go for a foundation with a dewy finish. Since our skin tends to get a bit drier, a dewy foundation will add a sheer glow to your makeup. Skip out on using powders. A few good foundations to try are Maybelline Fit-Me Foundation (850rs) and Catrice Ultimate Moisture Fresh Skin (1,000rs).
Rosy Cheeks and Lips
Skip out on wearing bronzer and go for a natural flushed look. Rose-tone blushes are the best way to go since the deeper hue can give a slightly contoured effect to the skin. A deep mauve tone blush will give your face warmth and natural glow to your skin. Go for matte finish blushes if you’re foundation is more on the dewy side for a more sophisticated cheek.
Apply your blush directly above the contours of your cheek. We really like Color Studio Professional’s Pro Blush in Havana (600rs) and Rimmel’s Lasting Finish Blush in 030 Berry (550rs). Pair your cheeks with a retro berry lip for an essential Fall look. Create a glamorous statement lip with a deep berry lipstick such as Luscious Signature Lipstick in 07 Moroccan Rose (775rs).
The best part about Fall is intense jewel-tone smoky eyes. You can go all out with your eyes and wear a deeper eyeshadow all over your lid or add an edgy statement liner to your lower lashline. Take a bit of a deep purple or emerald green shadow and smudge it on your lid, take a blending brush and sweep it across your lid to blend out any harsh edges.
If you want to go simpler with your eyes, go for a clean cat eyeliner. To do this use a creamy gel liner such as Essence’s Gel Liner in Midnight in Paris (530rs), draw out your liner, and extend it past the edge of your eyes. Flicking your liner in an upward motion will also help to achieve a crisp line. If you’re having a hard time matching up both of your eye lines, take a piece of tap and apply it on the edge of your eye up to the end of your eyebrow- this will help create precise eyeliner.
