When Catrice Cosmetics launched in Pakistan last year I was more then ecstatic. Not only are their makeup products easy on the wallet but their quality is also of the highest standards. Ever since the launch, I’ve tried a few of their makeup products and so far I have liked everything I’ve tried out.

I picked up the Infinite Matt Make Up foundation in the shade 030 Apricot Beige. The shade has a yellow undertone but it has very neutral tone at the same time. For someone with light to medium skin tone who is more on the tan side this is the perfect match. The foundation has medium coverage with a semi-matte finish. I am not a huge fan of matte foundation since they create a very cakey look on the skin. I prefer to use a foundation that has a slightly dewy finish since it will give more hydration to the skin.

Even though I suffer from an oily t-zone, I still prefer foundations that are semi-matte since I always set my foundation with a setting powder. The Catrice Infinite Matt up to 18hr Make Up is marketed as a matte foundation that will absorb oil and shine throughout the day for up to 18 hours. The statement is far from the actual truth. This foundation is anything but mattifyng on the skin so if you are looking for a foundation that leaves you with a soft and smooth mattified skin this is not the one.

The foundation doesn’t exactly promise a matte finish makeup, I do prefer it for a few different reasons. Since the weather now is a bit more dry now I prefer the hydrating benefits of this foundation. The consistency is very creamy yet gives the perfect medium coverage. I use just a pea size amount and buff it into my skin using a flat top foundation brush. This can be used as a full coverage foundation but since it gives a slight dewy effect I wouldn’t recommend it for heavy oil prone skin.

The consistency of the foundation is ideal for a quick on the go face. It will not set into your skin very quickly unless you buff it in very well and blend it out. It has a slight floral scent but it goes away after a few minutes of application. What’s nice about the Catrice Infinite Matt Make Up is that is has the slightest hint of shimmer, hardly noticeable. The shimmer enhances the skin’s radiance that is also a great aspect of this foundation for winter. Despite the shimmer, it’s perfect for office makeup.

The range has only 5 different shades so you will be lucky if you are able to find your perfect match. I recommend picking a foundation that is 1 shade darker and using a lighter setting powder to balance out the color mismatch. Vice versa if you end up with a light shade foundation you can either use a deeper shade of setting powder or choose to use bronzer on the cheeks and temples to warm up your complexion. If your t-zone gets oily throughout the day, I recommend a good mattifying pressed powder. Even with a primer my skin still tends to get oily after about 2-3 hours so I prefer to blot any excess oil and reapply another layer of setting powder.

I recommend this to anyone looking for an everyday foundation that is also easily to apply without drying out your skin. As a winter foundation, this is perfect if you tend to get dry patches on any areas of your face.
