It goes without saying that Pakistan has got immense talent. With the beginning of every New Year, everyone looks forward to watching good dramas that are directed by the few brilliant names in the industry. Moreover, Pakistani dramas do not only gain popularity locally but also internationally.
Dramas can gain a heightened level of hype given the right actors and creators, or marketing. These were the drama serials that disappointed us the most.
The pace of the drama was rather slow so it felt as if it was getting dragged. The story was cliched, about the religious views that exist in our society. It build up many controversies and once again, Maya Ali’s drama was a fail.
The serial, yet again deals with the typical themes of love, bond and jealousy. While watching the first episode it looks like a woman-oriented drama with very few roles for men and that is also not very dominating. It seemed as if 0 the production was probably running short of good boys in the society? There is no father in this serial or probably not shown in the first episode. This sudden increase in woman-oriented dramas forces us to think if we are going towards a matriarchal society?
Last episodes leaves so many questions unanswered for the audience. The ending was so abrupt. With such a promisisng cast, the drama did not meet up to the expectations.
4. Ishq mein teray
This too was a typical love triangle which we hoped would become better after few episodes. Plot is not a new one and the story was pretty much predictable. All the more reasons for it become boring.
The slowness of the drama is irritating. They are once again revolving the whole story around kids for no good reason. Only if they had edited & cut-short some of the scenes because every scene of this drama seems never-ending, it actually puts you to sleep because everything seems just so slow as if they’re living in a slow-motion!
6. Muhabbat Subh Ka Sitara
Good actors but a story line that could have been executed in a much better way. A monotonous story of a poor girl and the hurdles she faces after marriage. It could have been tweaked in a better way!
7. Mere Meherbaan
it was just another “Cinderella story” that was all about the good versus the bad. Yet again, it had nothing new to offer and indeed was a great disappointment.
With the newbies who keep entering the Drama industry, we look forward to some great serials this year!
