Using so many products on a daily basis is used to attain hair perfection. We always want to look our best, with so brands coming out with the latest ‘Hair Fall Solution’ to ‘Smooth and Sleek Hair’ we all fall into these advertisement traps. Everyone has a hair issue, from dull, flat hair to frizzy out-of-control hair. No doubt these products are easily available in the market but do you know what ingredients to avoid? What can cause more hair problems instead of a cure. We expose our hair to toxins when we really want to prefect our hair. So before you purchase a new hair care product, avoid these mentioned ingredients!

Sodium Lauryl Sulphate

Sodium Lauryl Sulphate or SLS is what creates foam and lather included in shampoos and soaps. SLS strips the hair as a cleaning agent and efficiently removes any product, oil and dirt buildup. If you love squeaky clean hair shampoos, chances are you have used SLS in your regimen. The problem with SLS is simple- striping the hair from oil also causes essential oils to be removed in the process. This will cause dry, weak and brittle hair strands in the long run which will cause excess breakage. This also causes most consumers to purchase a combining conditioner since it replenishes moisture and hydrates strands.

Potential of Hydrogen, or pH, measures the condition of your hair strands. Parabens are a class of chemicals that are used as preservatives to keep the ingredients in your products from rotting, thus increasing the shelf-life. Parabens are brutal to the health of your hair, the carcinogenic properties have been found in breast tumors due its mimicking properties of estrogen, a female hormone. Parabens can be imbalance estrogen with long-term use.
