Beauty & Style
Makeup is an excellent way to enhance your appearance. Though some skeptics might believe otherwise, makeup can easily alter your features in a way that no surgery can! If you’ve dreamed of bigger, brighter eyes- simple makeup tips can help you achieve it without drastic measures. The key to achieving wide-open eyes is with a few important products and tricks.
The easiest way to help open up your eyes is to curl your lashes. If you’re lashes stick
straight down naturally, it can give you the appearance of droopy, downward turned eyes. Using a curler is the quickest way to elongate your lashes and to add length.
The ideal way to get the best curl is by placing your lash curler at the root of your lashes and press it down for 5 seconds. Press it a few times if you think your lashes aren’t curling properly. Once you’ve curl the base of your lashes, move your lash curler up and hold it again for a few seconds.
If your curl isn’t holding up throughout the day, go for a waterproof mascara since the ingredients contains more wax content that won’t weight down your curl. Another trick is to heat your lash curler if your lashes aren’t curling. Simply run the hot air with a hair dryer for a few seconds, cool it down a bit and then curl your lashes. Your stubborn lashes will look gorgeous and glamorous all day.
Makeup artists use this trick all the time to open up the eyes. If you’ve stayed up all night and need your eyes to look a bit perky, use a nude eyeliner to give the appearance of brighter whites of your eyes.
You can also use a white eyeliner but since white can be too bright and vibrant, it can look unnatural. A nude liner in the waterline works perfectly. A great one to try out is the Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner in Nude (850rs).
Brighten Dark Circles
Concealers are your best bet when it comes brightening up any dark circles or discoloration. Since the skin around our eyes is the most delicate part of our face, using a creamy and hydrating concealer will prevent the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles that tend to show up around the eyes.
There are tons of concealers available in the market, the trick to finding the right one that covers up all imperfections is to test it on your wrist. If the concealer covers up your veins flawlessly, than you have found the right one, if it blends into your skin and shows your veins then skip it.
Not all eyeshadows need to be a dull and boring. If your eyes tends to smaller, use a light shimmery eyeshadow that is 2-3 shades lighter than your skin tone and apply it on the inner corners of your eyes and underneath your eyebrow to liven up your eye shape. You can always use 2 or 3 different shades to create a glamorous eye look!
